Motorcycle goes out on test drive, winds up in impound | Issaquah Police Blotter May 1-7

The police blotter represents officers' accounts of alleged crimes and incidents in the city of Issaquah. All persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

May 1

PROPERTY RECOVERY: A man turned in a front license plate he found four days prior in a parking lot at the 300 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. The plate was canceled and replaced.

WARNING: A man sitting with his dog at the intersection of Northwest Gilman Boulevard and Washington State Route 900 was warned not to panhandle in that location. The man agreed and left the area.

INTOXICATED: Eastside Fire and Rescue personnel assisted an intoxicated man who had tripped while walking on the 100 block of Rainier Boulevard North. He was helped to the bus stop.

May 2

SEIZURES: A person experienced seizures on the 100 block of East Sunset Way. Eastside Fire and Rescue personnel administered treatment and an officer gave the person a ride away from the location.

PROWL: A vehicle was broken into on the 2600 block of Northwest Oakcrest Drive. Sunglasses and loose change were stolen at a total loss of $240.

BIKE: A bicycle was reported stolen from the 2000 block of Newport Way Northwest at a total loss of $1,000.

May 3

OUCH: A citizen visiting the police station lobby said he was concerned because he had allowed an interested buyer for his motorcycle take it for a ride and he hadn’t returned. An officer checked the WASIC database and found it had been impounded by the Washington State Patrol.

May 4

WARRANT: An officer contacted a group on the north side of Value Village, seen removing computers from the donation area and placing them in the back of a vehicle. A 42-year-old Renton man with the group was found to have two warrants out of that city for criminal trespass and theft. He was arrested.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: Bellevue police arrested a man with an outstanding warrant out of Issaquah for driving while license suspended. He was transferred into an Issaquah officer’s custody at the Eastgate Dairy Queen.

SLEEP: A 25-year-old Issaquah man was found sleeping near the library dumpsters with “no medical problems other than drug usage,” according to a police report. He was found to have an active escape warrant issued by the Department of Corrections and he was arrested.

SHAMELESS CLIMBER: A ladder was reported stolen from a location on the 800 block of Front Street South. The unknown perpetrator damaged a padlock to obtain it.

May 5

ONE WAY TO VISIT: A woman who had come to the Issaquah Jail for visitation was found to have a warrant out of Bellevue for driving while license suspended in the third degree. She was arrested and booked into the jail.

THEFT: A wallet and its contents were reported stolen from the 1700 block of Northwest Maple Street at a total loss of $175.

May 7

SUCKERPUNCH: A 16-year-old boy was punched by an unknown person on the 6200 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast.

‘ROUND AND ‘ROUND: A person reported a man flying a remote control helicopter recklessly near Swedish hospital in the Highlands. The officer had spoken to the pilot the prior week after watching him operate the helicopter.

SUSPENDED: A 21-year-old Issaquah man was arrested on the 1700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard for driving while license suspended.
