Butler announces bid for reelection

BY CELESTE GRACEY Issaquah City Council member Fred Butler announced his decision to run for his fourth term on council.

Issaquah City Council member Fred Butler announced his decision to run for his fourth term on council.

He is the second to announce his intention to run for one of three open seats in Issaquah. Joshua Schaer also announced his bid, and Stacy Goodman’s seat will also be open.

Butler has most recently worked on the Regional Transit Task Force for King County Metro. He also serves on the Sound Transit

He also served on King County Executive Dow Constantine’s transition team.

On council he serves as the deputy president, and on the land and shore and transportation committees.

“While I want to continue to focus on transit, there are a number of other significant issues where I can help shape the vision and future of Issaquah,” he said in a press release.

He hopes to continue working on the Central Issaquah Plan, the Park Pointe preservation, and facilitating the integration of Swedish Hospital and Bellevue College into Issaquah.
